Chairman, Chief Executive Officer
Paul Ricci joined as the company Chief Executive Officer in September 2000 and has served as Chairman of the Board since 1999. During his tenure, Paul successfully led the company through significant organic growth and several strategic acquisitions, including Lernout & Hauspie, SpeechWorks, Nuance and Dictaphone, and transformed the company into a global leader of speech solutions. Previously, he spent nearly a decade at Xerox Corporation, where he served as president of the desktop system division and a corporate vice president. Paul holds a B.A. and a master's degree in Economics from Stanford University.
President, Nuance Mobile and Consumer Services Division
Steve Chambers leads the company's sales engineering, professional services, market development and marketing for the Mobile and Consumer Services Division. Previously Steve was president of the company’s Speech division where he successfully applied his marketing and strategic leadership to create a vision for mainstream speech applications and helped position the company as the premier provider of speech technologies, applications and solutions. He came to Nuance in August 2003 as part of the SpeechWorks acquisition, where he served as senior vice president, worldwide sales and chief marketing officer, after joining the company in 1999. Previously, Steve held chief marketing officer roles at Arbortext, Inc., VDOnet and PictureTel Corporation and was a consultant for a division of McKinsey Corporation. Steve holds a B.A. from Wesleyan University, and an M.B.A. and Masters in Communications and Science degree from Boston University.
President, Nuance Enterprise Division
Wes Hayden is responsible for managing strategy, operations, marketing, professional services and engineering for Nuance’s Enterprise Products and Solutions Division, which includes all the company’s network speech business units. Wes joined the company in 2007 with solid enterprise-oriented solution skills and ability to foster strong customer relationships. Prior to joining the company, he was the president and CEO of Genesys, a subsidiary of Alcatel-Lucent. In his career, he has held executive roles at Informix, Sun Microsystems, Digital Equipment Corporation and Applied Data Research. He holds a B.S. from the University of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana and an M.B.A from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University. He also currently serves on the Board of Trustees for the Glenkirk Foundation in Northbrook, Illinois and on the Board of Directors of the International Women’s Democracy Center (IWDC) in Washington, DC.
President, Imaging Division
John Shagoury oversees the company's Imaging Division, He joined the company in March 2004 and served as the president of the Productivity Applications division and Dictaphone Healthcare division before transitioning to his current role. He has more than 25 years of management, sales and marketing experience in software channels. John’s proven leadership and operational expertise are tremendous assets for Nuance as it executes strategies for achieving ambitious growth plans. He previously held president roles at Corporate Software, Dragon Systems and Kubi Software; and held management positions at Lotus Development, ON Technology and Software Wholesalers. He holds a B.A. and an M.B.A. in Management from Babson College.
President, Dictaphone Healthcare Division
Bob Wise manages all aspects of Nuance's Dictaphone Healthcare Solutions business Bob joined the company in August 2004 and is a dynamic executive who has established a successful history of executing strategic initiatives across multiple businesses and industries. His leadership skills have driven significant growth and expansion in numerous organizations, including ThinkFree, USWeb, Novell, USConnect and others. He holds a B.S. in Computer Science from the University of Puget Sound and has served as a representative to the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland.
Executive Vice President of Operations
Jeanne McCann has responsibility for the company's worldwide operational infrastructure, comprising information technology, business processes, common practices and operating metrics. Jeanne previously served as the head of Nuance’s Research and Development organization, where she demonstrated her strong commitment to operational performance and leadership. She joined Nuance in December of 2001 through its acquisition of Lernout & Hauspie where she was head of product development for the speech and language technologies group. Prior to her time at L&H and Dragon Systems, she held a number of senior product development positions in the distributed systems and applications areas at Eastman Software, Wang Software and Wang. Jeanne holds a B.A. from Simmons College and an M.B.A. from Babson College
President, Global Sales
Don Hunt oversees the strategy, model and operations of the Nuance’s extensive sales resources, including its global sales force and more than 2,000 channel partners. Don joined Nuance in October 2006 from Adobe Systems and Macromedia, where in his role as senior vice president, Worldwide Enterprise Sales, he demonstrated talent for building a world-class sales organization and leading the field through a broad sales model that spanned from the desktop to the enterprise. He has a pedigree of sales achievement, with more than 25 years of executive leadership in sales and sales operations. He began his career with positions in sales and management at Sun Microsystems and Digital Equipment Corporation and then secured senior roles at MatrixOne, Genesys, Informix and Open Market. Don holds a B.S. from Salem State College.
Senior Vice President, Chief Financial Officer
Jamie Arnold is responsible for the company’s accounting and controls, financial planning and analysis, and Sarbanes-Oxley and corporate governance initiatives. Jamie joined the company in September 2004, bringing a wealth of experience in large software companies and strong financial and operational skills. His experience designing and implementing Sarbanes-Oxley certification processes, extensive involvement in virtually every aspect of corporate finance at Cadence Design Systems and Ascential Software, as well as his early career as an auditor at Price Waterhouse, have established his credibility with both the financial and accounting community. He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A) in Finance from Delta State University and an M.B.A. from Loyola University.
Senior Vice President of Corporate Development
Rich Palmer is responsible for all mergers and acquisitions at Nuance. Prior to joining the company in May 2000, Rich was a financial executive at Xerox Corporation, holding a variety of positions over 20 years including director of mergers and acquisitions, assistant treasurer for financial operations and foreign exchange, and head of planning for Latin America. He holds a B.A. in Accounting and an M.B.A. from Indiana University. Rich also pursued post-graduate studies in Finance and Economics at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
Vice President of Human Resources
Dawn Fournier has worldwide responsibility for the planning, development, implementation and administration of the company's compensation and benefits, employment, training, organizational development, HRIS, and employee relations programs. She partners with the executive team on strategic initiatives and has played an active role in the company's mergers and acquisitions. Previously, Ms. Fournier held human resources management positions at UFP Technologies and Future Electronics. She is an active member of NEHRA and SHRM and holds a Master's Degree in Human Resources Management from Lesley University.
Vice President and General Counsel
Jo-Anne Sinclair is responsible for the oversight and growth of Nuance's legal department with efforts focused on strategic transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, general legal operations, advising on intellectual property issues and corporate governance. Previously, Ms. Sinclair practiced law at Heller Ehrman White & McAuliffe where she worked closely with clients from a variety of industries and practiced in Heller Ehrman's Corporate and Securities group. Ms. Sinclair graduated from the University of Saskatchewan, College of Law.
Senior Vice President, Chief Information Officer
Scott Floeck guides Nuance’s Information Technology function with overall responsibility for its strategic planning, infrastructure, application systems and related operations worldwide. Scott joined Nuance in May 2007 bringing extensive experience from Fortune 500 companies such as Shaw’s Supermarkets and Staples. Scott’s leadership, results orientation and innovative use of technology helped Staples to be consistently recognized as a leader in the use of technology and one of the 100 Best Places to work in IT. He is a 20-year veteran whose executive leadership in the effective use of Information technology helps companies maximize their growth potential in a cost efficient manner. Scott holds a B.S. in Management Science from Bridgewater State College and an M.B.A. from Western New England College.
