RadNet, Largest Provider of Outpatient Imaging, Deploys Nuance PowerScribe 360 for Improved Efficiency and Quality of Patient Care
BURLINGTON, Mass., – May 5, 2014 – Nuance Communications, Inc. (NASDAQ: NUAN) announced today that RadNet, the largest provider of outpatient imaging in the country, went live within 30 days of implementation of PowerScribe 360 at its first site, delivering improved efficiency, quality reporting and enhanced patient care. RadNet will deploy PowerScribe 360 across the U.S. in 250 imaging centers and 27 practices to produce more than 3.6 million radiology reports each year.
RadNet looked for a reporting solution it could easily adopt and use to provide reliable, quality reports captured accurately and consistently across the organization, and selected Nuance PowerScribe 360 to create a more streamlined approach to documentation, reduce turn-around times for reporting and improve clinician satisfaction.
“We set an internal goal of achieving 100 percent adoption within one year in order to improve data quality, streamline workflows, and improve cost efficiencies,” explains Ranjan Jayanathan, chief information officer, RadNet. “We chose Nuance as our long-term partner and have confidence that its industry-leading speech recognition-based reporting solution will help us accomplish our goals. Our confidence was reinforced after our first site had a smooth implementation, going live within 30 days.”
Quality Reports Drive Efficiencies
Nuance continues to see consistent customer adoption of PowerScribe 360 to meet the challenges of today’s dynamic and demanding healthcare environment, adding more than 100 facilities to the latest version of the platform since its launch in December at the RSNA Scientific Assembly and Annual Meeting.
“We continue to see increasing demand for PowerScribe 360 to streamline the accuracy and delivery of quality reports as customers transition from a volume-based payment model to one that is more patient-focused and based on quality of care,” says Rodney Hawkins, general manager of diagnostic solutions, Nuance Communications.
Radiologists are leveraging Nuance solutions to expedite the turnaround time of meaningful, actionable reports that impact referring physicians and patients throughout the care continuum. This supports the primary tenets of the American College of Radiology (ACR) Imaging 3.0™ initiative, equipping radiologists with the tools to evaluate and deliver quality patient care in an evolving healthcare delivery system.
PowerScribe 360 uses Nuance’s latest and most advanced speech recognition engine to drive faster, more accurate reporting, and improve the communication between radiologists and referring physicians. Nuance is the largest provider of technology used to produce radiology reports today in the United States.
