Speech is making quite a splash in the mobile industry, as evidenced recently at 3GSM World Congress in Barcelona, Spain and CTIA in the USA, respectively. There is growing, active participation among wireless carriers, device makers, content providers and automotive manufacturers to raise public mindshare for common spoken commands to dial, message, search, navigate and take command of their mobile resources. This session focuses on the growing fascination with the marriage between speech and mobility.

Applications, content, information and industries continue to converge in the mobile landscape. Whether music, local search, dynamic content, messaging or navigation, these services are undoubtedly coming together from a variety of sources. But convergence means complexity and possibly even unknown costs. This session will explore some of the trends in the mobile, navigation and automotive space, emphasizing areas where these industries are converging and what it means to the key constituents.

From dizzying browser dependencies, the voice/data divide, and size and computing power device limitations, the industry faces a range of challenges in getting consumers the applications they want. This session explores the potential and will open your minds to the possibilities.
