RadCube™ for Radiology is a powerful tool for analyzing and sharing information that leads to more informed decisions. RadCube’s instantaneous, multifaceted approach to data analysis is a result of the merging of two very dynamic technologies, OLAP and web architecture.
This radiology-centric solution allows you to perform highly complex clinical and detailed business analysis on your data in mere seconds using a simple drop-and-drag interface. By integrating advanced On-Line Analytical Processing (OLAP) techniques and Natural Language Processing (NLP) with your unique institutional data, RadCube provides new and powerful ways to visualize, analyze and optimize healthcare delivery to each and every patient.
Data Modeling and Trend Analysis
The ability to monitor data is the missing link in most modern radiology practices. RadCube for Radiology allows departments to run their business in a data-driven fashion — from modality utilization to physician ordering patterns, through radiologist reporting statistics and outcomes analysis. RadCube for Radiology is ushering in a new era of diagnostic imaging management.
Implementation of RadCube for Radiology is simple. An HL7 data stream captures all of the essential variables and reporting parameters. With RadCube for Radiology you can build a comprehensive data warehouse with decision support data, structured RIS data, reporting values, custom data entry, utilization statistics and more – with no programming skills needed.
Moreover, you can optimize your data with Lexicon Mediated Entropy Reduction (LEXIMER). LEXIMER provides data mining algorithms which extract, structure, and classify unstructured radiology report text in real-time as well as batch processing.
The patented Natural Language Processing (NLP) engine contains knowledge and decision trees that interpret a wide range of radiology linguistic models revealing report positivity rates, recommendation rates, pathological findings, disease states, and more. This automated structuring and classification of report data significantly improves the quality and scope of analyzed values.
You can navigate, sort, filter, and interact with your data. Using a drag-and-drop interface you can build charts and graphs on an unlimited number of data points. You can also export data to XML-formatted documents, Microsoft Excel or PowerPoint, or publish to a website with one simple click.
Data, Data, Everywhere
The first step to effectively conducting business intelligence is collecting, storing and configuring all available data for optimum accessibility and manipulation. Radwhere for Radiology is a principal data feed and its output is delivered to RadCube as part of a data warehouse, which can perform analysis by building a repository of continuously pulled information from a vast number of resources including multiple in-house databases, remote storage facilities, and external sources.
Feeding the Warehouse
After establishing a data warehouse, HL7 data streams will continually feed updates and new patient information into the data repository. First, RadCube for Radiology compiles RIS data and runs it through the LEXIMER algorithm to extract findings.
This data is “dumped” into the general warehouse. Additionally, CPOE, decision support, speech reporting, and critical test result communications (via Vocada Veriphy™) are pumped into the RadCube for Radiology warehouse.
In addition, data from external sources are also sent to the RadCube for Radiology database. Upon completing the data collection phase, RadCube for Radiology provides a simple front-end interface for creating analytical “cubes” and “projects.”
Once a project is completed, a visualization/analytics component routes the data to the appropriate location. View results on the desktop, laptop, and/or mobile devices.
Radiology Solutions Leadership
RadCube for Radiology represents the next step in the expansion of the Dictaphone family of radiology solutions. Instantaneous, multifaceted data analytics further support the closed-loop radiology solution.
By understanding the operating metrics of your imaging department, you can increase productivity and perform better utilization management, as well as benefit from appropriate order monitoring, forecasting and provide improved patient care.
