Michael Thompson General Manager, Mobile Search, Communications & Handsets Business Unit

Michael Thompson is responsible for the Nuance and recently acquired VST embedded businesses. This BU, carrying the highest growth targets in the company, focuses on connected services (client and network services) and embedded speech solutions for mobile handsets. Mike started at SpeechWorks in 1999 and has held a variety of roles in domestic and international marketing. Most recently, Mike has been the General Manager of the Search & Communications business unit. Prior to joining SpeechWorks, Mike worked as a management consultant and an electrical engineer. He earned his MBA at Cornell University. He holds a Professional Engineers license in mechanical engineering and completed his undergraduate studies at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo.
