Turning Narrator On/Off - Locate the Narrator icon on the blackberry main menu. Click on the icon to turn it on or off.
You can change Narrator settings by going to: Options -> Narrator by Nuance VoiceControl
Volume – Controls the volume of the Narrator Voice
Select a Voice – Select the Voice you want to hear reading the email.
Select Mode – Pick which part of the email you want read.

To Use
Click the “Message” icon on the blackberry main menu.
Scroll down to the email message you want read.
Press the “blackberry button” located to the right of the green talk button and to the left of the track ball.
Scroll to the top of the menu and click on "Speak this e-mail"
You will hear a 3 tone beep. Wait a few seconds for the speech engine to decipher what the email says. Then you should hear the email message being read to you.
Narrator Features

General Notes
Nuance VoiceControl™ only works when your Blackberry has data coverage (at least one bar on the signal strength indicator in the upper right hand corner of your Blackberry screen).
Narrator™ can not be used if your Blackberry is already on a phone call.
If your Blackberry Screen Saver is active, press any button once quickly to remove the screensaver. Then push and hold the button on the left side of the unit and speak your command as usual.
To install Narrator(tm), users need the following minimum requirements.
Blackberry Pearl with version 4.2.0.0 or higher of handheld Operating System. To check the version that you have on your Blackberry go to Wrench Icon (Options) and then to the "About" section. Version number will be on the third line and start with the letter"v".
