Nuance Speech Solutions Provide Cisco Easy-to-Use Interface for Phone Functions Beyond Typical Calling
BURLINGTON, Mass., August 20, 2007 – Nuance Communications, Inc. (NASDAQ: NUAN), a leading provider of speech and imaging solutions, today announced that it will provide speech solutions to Cisco Unity 5.0.
Nuance speech recognition will ship as an optional component of Cisco Unity 5.0 to speech-enable the unified messaging experience of Cisco Unity customers. Cisco Unity is a tool that allows users to manage email, voice or fax messages from any medium. Nuance provides Cisco Unity users with a “hands-free” user interface by enabling voice commands to control features of the platform.

The new agreement enhances the existing relationship between Cisco and Nuance established for the call center space several years ago.
