Getting started
First, let’s introduce the Status Window:
At the top, Control allows you to control the microphone, change modes, start Transcription, and customize the behavior of the Status Window.
In the middle, Information confirms when you have said a command, such as Caps On or Open TextEdit.
At the bottom, Guidance suggests common next steps based on what you're doing right now. Below that are buttons to show Commands and Help.
Basic dictation
Dictating into most Windows applications in just three steps:
Open the application you want to use.
Click inside the window or field where you want to dictate.
Turn on Dragon's microphone and speak!
Editing and correcting
If Dragon writes something different from what you expected, or you want to modify your text, you can say "correct" immediately followed by the word(s) to replace.
Working with Microsoft Word
You can do everything by voice when dictating into Microsoft Word, including:
Creating a document
Navigating within a document
Editing and formatting text
Saving a document
Printing a document
Transcription
You can use Dragon for Mac to transcribe a recording of your own voice (for example, if you use a hand-held recorder) or transcribe someone else's voice, say from a lecture your recorded.
Dragon Anywhere
Dragon Anywhere is a full-featured mobile app that lets you dictate and edit documents on an iOS or Android device, using all the same customized words and auto-text commands you use with your desktop version of Dragon.
