Using the Dictation Box
The Dictation Box appears when you attempt to:
- Dictate in an Unknown text field.
- Dictate in an unsupported application.
It appears automatically if you selected the Use the Dictation Box for unsupported applications option on the Options dialog box—Miscellaneous tab.

To open the Dictation Box:Do one of the following:

To close the Dictation Box:Click Cancel. |
To enable or disable the Dictation Box:By default, the Dictation Box appears automatically when you dictate in unsupported applications and Unknown text fields. You can disable this and open the Dictation Box manually as needed from the DragonBar by selecting Tools>Dictation Box. To disable the Dictation Box for all unsupported applications:

To enable or disable the Dictation Box for the current application:By default, the Dictation Box appears automatically when you dictate in unsupported applications and Unknown text fields. You can enable or disable this for specific applications. To enable the Dictation Box for the current application:When the Dictation Box opens, select the Use automatic Dictation Box for this application check box. The Dictation Box opens automatically when you begin to dictate in this application. To disable the Dictation Box for the current application:When the Dictation Box opens, deselect the Use automatic Dictation Box for this application check box. Without the Dictation Box, you can still dictate directly into fields where you do not need Full Text Control. You can also open the Dictation Box manually as needed from the DragonBar by selecting Tools>Dictation Box. |
To dictate and transfer text:

To re-size the Dictation Box:Click and drag the lower right corner of the box. |
