Installation and Configuration: Enterprise Foundation Technologies

This course instructs technicians on installation and basic configuration of three Nuance products and the license manager:

• Nuance Recognizer 9.0 – the recognition engine
• RealSpeak 4.5 – the text-to-speech engine
• Nuance Speech Server 5.0 – the MRCP server
• Licensing Manager 11.4 – the license server

For each of the products above, participants learn to install, configure and test the installation using tools packaged with the products. By the end of the course, participants have the information necessary to install, configure, troubleshoot, and, if necessary, escalate installation issues appropriately. This course will not cover installation of third-party products or software. This course will not cover legacy Nuance products.

In this hands-on class, participants perform all the installation steps for each product using Nuance’s eCampus virtual machines.

This course is a prerequisite for Technical Support: Enterprise Foundation Technologies.

This course is a recommended prerequisite for the Nuance Technical Associate – Enterprise Foundation Technologies certification exam.

• Generate, locate, and analyze log files during installation testing
• Troubleshoot common installation and configuration issues
• Describe and use tools available to verify or troubleshoot installations

• Basic knowledge of web browser functionality.
• Basic knowledge of client/server architectures.
• Familiarity with command-line interfaces and commands for Windows or Linux
• Knowledge of the telephony platforms and MRCP client installed independent of the Nuance products.
