Course Description

Nuance Voice Platform Fundamentals

This course is designed to introduce the foundations of Nuance Voice Platform architecture and features to anyone who will be involved in the development and deployment of speech applications using Nuance Voice Platform. Participants attend this live, Web-based class from the convenience of their own computer — with the ability to interact with the instructor and other participants.

This eCampus course is offered in one half day session.

By the end of the course, students will be able to:
  • Describe the basic elements of a speech application and the role of application code (VoiceXML), grammars, and prompts as they relate to Nuance Voice Platform
  • Describe the role of Nuance Voice Platform and the web model as it applies to speech applications and VoiceXML
  • Describe Nuance Voice Platform features including speech recognition, TTS, and verification
  • Describe Nuance Voice Platform options, including Sparc Solaris, Win2K, and various audio providers
  • List the Nuance Voice Platform reference platform specifications
  • Describe the Nuance Voice Platform architecture, including the Conversation Server, Management Station, and the Nuance Application Environment
  • List the services provided by the Conversation Server and describe the function of each
