How to Download Nuance Voice Control on the BlackBerry 7520
- There are 2 ways to download Nuance Voice Control on your blackberry:
- From your BlackBerry Internet Browser go to the URL: www.nvcnow.com/load
- From the BlackBerry main menu click "Internet Browser" -> "Wireless Web" -> "Download Applications" -> "Other Applications" -> "Nuance Voice Control".
- Click "Download Nuance Voice Control" to get started.
What you will need:
- Sprint Nextel BlackBerry 7520 (OS 4.1.x or higher)
- BlackBerry Internet Service or BlackBerry Enterprise Server (with Mobile Data Services enabled)
- Wireless Data Services subscription (with TCP capability)
- An active email address on your BlackBerry.
- After installing Nuance Voice Control on your phone:
- Locate our icon on your BlackBerry Main Menu and click on the Voice Control Icon.
- Fill in your blackberry phone number including area code. (If asked)
- Do not check on a BES (unless your BES administrator has advised you to.)
- Leave Pass Key blank if you are a trial user or if you purchased Sprint Nextel.
- Press "Send". It will ask you to "Allow this connection" make sure you allow the connection. (You may have to hit the back button in order for this screen to come up.) It will send your first time data and activate your account. After that you are taken to a tutorial, read it, then click the back button to close.
- The system will begin organizing your contacts for speech recognition. After this process is complete, you can begin using the system. It will ask you to "Allow socket connection" make sure you check "Allow all socket connections" then click "Allow this connection"
- Press and Hold the Direct connect button. Speak your command. Release the button when you finish saying your command.

| Security Settings |
- If you are going to use the Phone Application and the "Show Contact" Feature you must enable two application security settings.
- Go to Options->Advanced Options->Applications->Voice Control and then Edit Permissions.
- Under Interactions, set Keystroke Injector to Allow
- Under Connections, set Phone to Allow
- Note: If either of these settings will not allow you to set them, you must speak with your BES Administrator

| Placing your first request |
- You will be taken back to the first window after configuration and contact organization is complete. At this point you are ready to try a command.
- Example: While holding down the DirectConnect button continuously say: "Weather 10012" then let go of the button and your browser will launch and retrieve the weather for New York City.
- Example: While holding down the DirectConnect button continuously say: "Call Nancy Anderson" to place a call or include "at Home", "at Work", or "on Mobile" if there is more than one phone number listed.
