Dr. Steven Tai is a board-certified practicing general internist who has lived in Nashville, TN for the last eighteen years. He has had a long-standing interest in how to improve the physician experience in the ambulatory workplace. He tries to facilitate change by piloting and using tools to create greater effectiveness and efficiency of care all the while trying to reinforce what is good, positive, and enjoyable about the patient-physician interaction. As a member and recent past President of Heritage Medical Associates, a 150-provider group that is physician-owned and managed in Nashville, Dr. Tai has worked to add variety to his practice life. His teaching efforts have been acknowledged with the Attending Physician of the Year award voted on by the medical residents at St. Thomas Midtown. He has also served as medical staff president of St. Thomas Midtown Hospital and continues as a member of the board of directors at Heritage. Dr. Tai originally earned his MD degree from Louisiana State University School of Medicine in Shreveport, La and completed his Internal Medicine internship and residency at Duke University Medical Center. He originally started in internal medicine practice in Pensacola, FL prior to moving to Nashville. Dr. Tai is also a Fellow of the American College of Physicians and is a Certified Physician Executive as designated by the Certifying Commission in Medical Management.
