Working with Microsoft Outlook

Use these commands for basic operations using Microsoft Outlook.

For a list of commands you can use in Outlook, say "What Can I Say?" at any time.

Procedures

To open Microsoft Outlook:

Say "Open Microsoft Outlook".

To check for new mail:

Say "Get All New Mail".

To read new mail:

Say "Go to the Next Message".

To open an attachment:

Say "Open the Attachment".

To compose and send a new message:

You can also use Dragon's Voice Shortcut commands to create a message using fewer commands. You can use these commands to send mail even when Outlook is closed. For more information, see Using voice shortcuts to send email and create calendar entries.

  1. Say "Compose a New Message".

    Dragon opens a new message.

  2. Dictate the contact name in the To field.

    For more information, see Dictating email addresses and web addresses.

  3. Optionally dictate the Subject field.

    • Say "Go to the Subject Field" or "Press Tab".
  4. Move to the message body.

    • Say "Go to the Body Field" or "Press Tab".
  5. Dictate your message.
  6. Say "Send That".

To move between message fields:

Say one of the following:

  • "Go to the To Field"
  • "Go to the Body Field"
  • "Go to the CC Field"
  • "Go to the Next Field"
  • "Go to the BCC Field"
  • "Go to the Previous Field"
  • "Go to the Subject Field"
  • "Press Tab"

To reply to a message:

While reading an email message, say one of the following:

  • "Reply to That"
  • "Reply to All"

To forward a message:

While reading an email message, say "Forward That".

To move between messages:

Say one of the following:

  • "Go to the Next Message"
  • "Go to the Previous Message"

To delete a message:

Read or select the message to delete, and then say "Delete That".

To format message text:

To open the File menu:

Say "Click File Tab".

To open all other menus:

Say "Click <menu name>".

To select a menu item:

Say "Click <menu option>".

To attach a recent document to an email (Office 2016 only):

Say "Show Recent Files for Attachment".

To re-enable the NatSpeak Outlook Add-in (Office 2016):

Should the add-in become disabled, Dragon notifies you. Do the following to re-enable it:

  1. In Outlook, click the File menu.

    The Account Information page appears.

  2. Click the Manage COM Add-ins block.

    The Disabled COM Add-ins dialog box appears.

  3. Locate the NatSpeak Outlook AddIn in the list.
  4. Click the Always enable this add-in button.
  5. Click Close.
