Deleting words from your vocabulary

You can delete words from your vocabulary using the Vocabulary Editor or the "Don't Recognize that Word" command. The "Don't Recognize that Word" command is helpful when Dragon consistently misrecognizes a word and substitutes it with a word you don't use.

Procedures

To delete a word from the Vocabulary Editor:

  1. From the DragonBar, select Tools>Vocabulary Center>Open Vocabulary Editor.

The Vocabulary Editor dialog box opens.

  2. Select a word, and then click Delete.

    A confirmation message appears.

  3. Click Yes.

If you delete a word using the Vocabulary Editor but the word exists in your current document, Dragon may add the word back into your vocabulary automatically.

To delete a word using "Don't Recognize that Word":

  1. Say "Don't Recognize that Word" immediately after the word to delete.

    A confirmation message appears.

  2. Click OK.

To delete a word when the Correction menu is open:

  1. Say one of the following:

    • "Correct That"
    • "Correct <text>"
    • "Correct <text> through <text>" (US and Canada)
    • "Correct from <text> to <text>" (all other locations)

    The Correction menu opens.

  2. Say "Don't Recognize that Word".

    A confirmation appears.

  3. Click Yes.

To restore deleted words:

  1. From the DragonBar, select Tools>Vocabulary Center>Open Vocabulary Editor.

The Vocabulary Editor dialog box opens.

  2. Select Deleted words only from the Display drop-down list.

    Deleted words appear.

The Add word or phrase dialog box opens.
