If commands are being recognized as dictation

Try the following if Dragon transcribes your commands into dictation.

Troubleshooting tips

Pause briefly before and after you say the command.

Dragon uses the length of the pause between two utterances to determine whether you are saying a command or dictation. However, do not pause before saying dictation commands, such as "Cap"or "New Line".

You can change the length of the pause that Dragon uses to identify a command on the Options dialog box—Commands page.

Pause after specific commands.

When you use "Select", "Insert Before", and "Insert After" commands, do not pause until after you say the command.

For example, to select the word "hello", say "Select hello" without pausing after "Select".

Hold down the Control key as you say the command.

This hot key disables dictation and forces Dragon to recognize what you say as a command.

Train voice commands that are often mistaken for dictation.
