If your Bluetooth microphone doesn't connect with Dragon

Use this topic to troubleshoot connection problems between your Bluetooth microphone and Dragon.

To dictate, Dragon's microphone must be turned on and your Bluetooth microphone must be powered on and turned on to open a connection to Dragon. Consult the user guide for your device.

If your Bluetooth microphone isn't recognized during user profile setup or dictation, check for the following common issues:

  • Make sure the Bluetooth USB adaptor is inserted into a USB port on your computer and installed in Windows.
  • If you have previously run Dragon's audio setup with the current user profile, remove and reinsert the USB adaptor, and then reopen the user profile.
  • Make sure the Bluetooth USB adaptor and microphone are paired.
  • Make sure the microphone is both powered on and turned on. Bluetooth microphones designed for dictation include an on/off control even when they're powered on.
  • Make sure the microphone has enough charge for dictation.
