Using your mouse with MouseGrid

MouseGrid divides your screen or active window into nine numbered areas. You can then move your mouse pointer (mouse pointer) to any of those areas. Dragon redraws the grid each time you move your pointer to a new area.

Use these procedures to move your mouse pointer using MouseGrid. For information on moving your mouse using mouse commands, see Using your mouse by voice.

To move the pointer within an active window:

  1. Say "MouseGrid Window".

    Numbered areas appear.

  2. Say "<number>".

The pointer moves to the area, and Dragon redraws the grid smaller.

  3. Do one of the following:

    • Say "Go" to close the grid.
    • Say another number to move the pointer again.

To move the pointer around your screen:

To click and drag objects:

  1. Say "MouseGrid".

    Numbered areas appear.

  2. Say "<number>".

The pointer moves to the area and Dragon redraws the grid smaller.

  3. Do one of the following:

    • If the pointer is positioned over the object, say "Mark".
    • If the pointer is not over the object, say "<number>" when the grid redraws until the pointer is over the object. Then, say "Mark".

When you say "Mark", Dragon selects the object and closes the grid.

  4. Say "MouseGrid".

    Numbered areas appear.

  5. Say "<number>" to select the new object location.

The pointer moves to the area and Dragon redraws the grid.

  6. Say "Drag".

Dragon drags the object and closes the grid.

To undo the last MouseGrid action:

Say "Undo That".

To close the MouseGrid:

Say "Cancel".

MouseGrid closes automatically when you turn off the microphone or say "Go to Sleep".
