Preparing for communication

Use this step in the New User Profile wizard to configure the Dragon Remote Microphone application to communicate with Dragon.

Using the supplied barcode - for all supported mobile devices with a camera

If your mobile device has a camera, you can use the Dragon Remote Microphone Application to read this barcode and automatically transfer the network data to the Dragon Remote Microphone Application for you.

To capture the barcode from the Dragon Remote Microphone application:

  1. For Apple devices, tap Settings > Manual Entry.

    For Android devices, press the Menu button, then tap Settings > Manual Entry.
  2. Tap Use a Barcode. The Dragon Remote Microphone application opens the camera on your device and waits for you to point it at the barcode displayed on your computer.

  3. Point the camera on your device at the barcode. The camera on your device captures the barcode and automatically fills in the network information on the Manual Entry screen. You do not have to open your device's camera software.

Using Bonjour

Bonjour is software from Apple that lets computers and devices find other computers and devices with Bonjour installed. With Bonjour running, the Dragon Remote Microphone Application will automatically discover the computer where you are running Dragon.

This method works only with the supported Apple iPhones, iPads, and iPods. If you have iTunes or the Safari browser from Apple on your computer, then Bonjour is installed.

If you don't have Bonjour installed, don't know if you have it installed, or you have an Android phone without a camera, please see the next section.

Manually enter the information on your mobile device.

If your device does not have a camera, click the "Enter information manually" button to display the computer and profile information you'll need for the Dragon Remote Microphone application.
