Working with dictation sources

A dictation source is an audio input device that you use to dictate with Dragon.

To add a dictation source:

Dragon allows you to use multiple dictation sources with a single user profile. If you are using a headset or hand-held microphone that plugs into your computer, plug it in first to make it available in the device list.

  1. From the DragonBar, select Profile>Manage Dictation Sources.

The Manage Dictation Sources dialog box opens.

  2. Click Add New Dictation Source.

The Add a Dictation Source dialog box opens.

  3. Select your dictation source, and then click Next.
  4. Proceed through the wizard, configuring your device as prompted.

For more information, click the Help button on each wizard page.

  5. Click Finish.

    Dragon creates your dictation source.

To change your dictation source:

  1. From the DragonBar, select Profile>Manage Dictation Sources.

The Manage Dictation Sources dialog box opens.

  2. Select a device, and then click Select.

    Dragon changes your dictation source.
