If you have problems using the Dragon Web Extension or Web applications

Use this topic to help you troubleshoot problems using Dragon with a Web application, like Gmail.

Did you re-start your browser after installing the extension?

After enabling the Dragon Web Extension, restart your browser.

Is the Dragon Web Extension supported in your browser?

The Dragon Web Extension is available in the following Web browsers and versions:

  • Microsoft Internet Explorer version 11, 32-bit or 64-bit
  • Google Chrome, latest version

The Dragon Web Extension is not applicable for the Microsoft Edge browser. You cannot click Web page objects by voice in Edge.

Is the Dragon Web Extension active in your browser?

To determine whether the feature is installed and active, see Installing and enabling the Dragon Web Extension.

Do you need to re-install the Dragon Web Extension?

If you did not enable the Dragon Web Extension the first time you opened a browser after installing Dragon, see To reinstall or re-enable the Dragon Web Extension.

Are you using a different language?

To use the Dragon Web Extension, you must set the language of the Web application (like Gmail) to the same language as your user profile. If your profile is set up in English, you must have your Web application set up in English.

To work in a different language, you can create another user profile with that language and then open that user profile when you need it.

Are you trying to play back dictation?

Dragon does not support playback of dictation using menus and buttons in Web applications. To play back dictation in Web applications, use voice commands, like "Play that back", "Read that", and "Read selection".

Are you working offline?

Offline mode is not supported for working with Web-based documents.
