Working with LibreOffice

Use these procedures to navigate and perform basic operations in LibreOffice. These procedures require you to use your keyboard by voice. For more information, see Using your keyboard by voice.

You can also use Dictation commands when you have a document open. For more information, see Dictation commands.

Dragon supports only the 32-bit version of LibreOffice.

To open LibreOffice:

Say "Open LibreOffice".

To create a new text document:

Say "Press Ctrl N".

To select menu options:

Press the shortcut keys for the menu option by voice. For example, to open a document, say "Press Ctrl O".

To move around a document or spreadsheet:

Say one of the following:

  • "Line Up"
  • "Line Down"
  • "Page Up"
  • "Page Down"

Additionally, you can use other Global commands. For more information, see Moving around in documents, web pages and text fields.

To save a new document:

  1. Say "Press Ctrl S".

    The Save As dialog box opens.

  2. Dictate the file name. Say "<filename> dot odt".
  3. Say "Click Save".

    The Save As dialog box closes.

To save an existing document:

  1. Say "Press Ctrl Shift S".

    The Save As dialog box opens.

  2. Say "Click Save".

    The Confirm Save As dialog box opens.

  3. Say "Click Yes".

    The Confirm Save As dialog box closes.

To print a document:

  1. Say "Press Ctrl P".

    The Print dialog box opens.

  2. Say "Press Tab".

    The cursor moves to the Help button.

  3. Say "Press Tab".

    The cursor moves to the OK button.

  4. Say "Press Enter".

  5. Say "Press Enter".

    Your document prints.

To close LibreOffice:

Say "Press Ctrl Q".
