Use the Learn from sent e-mails tool to analyze words and phrases you use in your Sent email to refine your vocabulary and improve recognition accuracy. This tool adapts to your writing style by analyzing word use frequency statistics and typical word sequences. You can also use this tool to add contact names to your vocabulary from your Sent email.

Dragon can analyze all Sent email or only email sent since you last ran the tool.

The first time you run the tool, the analysis can take up to 30 minutes.

Caution: Only select the Improve my profile from my e-mail writing style option if your Sent emails folder contains messages in the same language as your user profile.

Step 1: Choose Options

Select the e-mail programs in which to analyze your Sent email. To analyze email in Web mail applications, ensure you have an Internet connection before beginning.

Option Description
E-mail sources

Select one or more email applications in which to analyze Sent email. Desktop applications are available for selection only if they are installed on your computer.

To analyze Yahoo mail, you must first select the Allow apps that use less secure sign in option in your Yahoo account. Do the following:

  1. Log in to your Yahoo account.
  2. From the menu icon (), select Account Info.

    Your account information appears.

  3. From the left menu panel, click Account security.

    The Account security page appears.

  4. Enable the Allow apps that use less secure sign in option.

To analyze mail in Web applications not listed, select IMAP and then provide configuration information.

For Microsoft Outlook, Dragon adds contact names to your vocabulary only when the contacts are in both your address book and Sent email.

Add contact names from e-mail to the Vocabulary

If selected, Dragon adds contact names to your vocabulary from your Sent email. Dragon only adds nicknames if your email application supports nicknames.

If deselected, Dragon only improves your user profile.

Improve my profile from my e-mail writing style

If selected, Dragon adapts the Language Model from your Sent email to better recognize the phrasing and word order you typically use.

If deselected, Dragon only adds contact names to your vocabulary.

Do not select this option if you have Sent email in more than one language.

Consider e-mail written since my last scan Select if Dragon should analyze only email sent since you last ran this tool.
Consider all e-mail Select if Dragon should analyze all Sent email.

 

Step 2: Scan E-mail

Dragon scans your emails - from here, you can monitor the progress of the email scan.

Option Description
Skip Source Click to stop scanning the contact names and Sent email for the current email application.

 

Step 3: Add contacts to Vocabulary

Choose the contact names to add to your vocabulary and optionally train Dragon on their pronunciation.

Option Description
Contacts Select the contact names to add to your vocabulary.
Check All Click to select all contacts.
Uncheck All Click to deselect all contacts.
Edit Click to correct the contact name.

 

Step 4: Train words

Select the words for which to train Dragon on the pronunciation.

When you perform acoustic training, speak as you would in normal conversation. Do not over-enunciate or speak louder.

Words

Select the words to add to your vocabulary.

Deselect the words to exclude from your vocabulary.

Check All Click to select all words.
Uncheck All Click to deselect all words.
Train Click to train Dragon to pronounce your words.
