Moving around in documents, web pages and text fields

Use these procedures to move your cursor (cursor icon) around in a document, text field or web page. These are Global Commands that you can use in any application.

To move around a document or web page:

Say one of the following:

  • "Line Up"
  • "Line Down"
  • "Page Up"
  • "Page Down"

To move to the beginning of a document:

Say one of the following:

  • "Move to Top of Document"
  • "Move to Beginning of Document"

To move to the end of a document:

Say one of the following:

  • "Move to Bottom of Document"
  • "Move to End of Document"

To move your cursor to the beginning of a line:

Say one of the following:

  • "Move to Beginning of Line"
  • "Move to Start of Line"

To move your cursor by characters:

Say one of the following:

  • "Move Right <1-20>"
  • "Move Right a Character"
  • "Move Left <1-20>"
  • "Move Left a Character"
  • "Move Forward <1-20>"
  • "Move Forward a Character"
  • "Move Backward <1-20>"
  • "Move Backward a Character"

To move your cursor by words:

Say one of the following:

  • "Move Right <1-20> Words"
  • "Move Right a Word"
  • "Move Left <1-20> Words"
  • "Move Left a Word"
  • "Move Forward <1-20> Words"
  • "Move Forward a Word"
  • "Move Backward <1-20> Words"
  • "Move Backward a Word"

To move by lines:

Say one of the following:

  • "Move Up <1-20> Lines"
  • "Move Down <1-20> Lines"

To move to the end of a line:

Say "Move to End of Line".

To move by paragraphs:

Say one of the following:

  • "Move Up <1-20> Paragraphs"
  • "Move Up a Paragraph"
  • "Move Down <1-20> Paragraphs"
  • "Move Down a Paragraph"
  • "Move Forward <1-20> Paragraphs"
  • "Move Forward a Paragraph"
  • "Move Backward <1-20> Paragraphs"
  • "Move Backward a Paragraph"

To return the cursor to its original position:

Use this command to move the cursor when you have moved it using any commands that change the cursor position, like "Select <text>" and "Move <direction>".

Say "Go Back".

To scroll in your document or web page:

Say one of the following:

  • "Start Scrolling Up"
  • "Scroll Down"
  • "Start Scrolling Down"
  • "Scroll Faster"
  • "Scroll Up"
  • "Scroll Slower"
  • "Stop scrolling"
