Using your mouse by voice

Use these procedures to move your mouse pointer (mouse pointer).

For information on moving your cursor (cursor icon) around in documents, see Moving around in documents, web pages and text fields.

To click the mouse:

Say "Mouse Click".

To double-click:

Say "Mouse Double-Click".

To right-click:

Say "Mouse Right-Click".

To click and drag objects:

To use these commands, you must have selected the Enable mouse motion commands option on the Options dialog box—Commands page.

  1. Move your pointer over the object.

    For more information, see To move the mouse pointer below.

  2. Say "Mouse Click".
  3. Say one of the following:

    • "Drag Mouse Up"
    • "Drag Mouse Down"
    • "Drag Mouse Left"
    • "Drag Mouse Right"
    • "Drag Mouse Upper Left"
    • "Drag Mouse Upper Right"
    • "Drag Mouse Lower Left"
    • "Drag Mouse Lower Right"
  4. Optionally say one of the following:

    • "Faster"
    • "Slower"
    • "Very Fast"
    • "Very Slow"
    • "Much Faster"
    • "Much Slower"
  5. Say "Stop" to drop the object.

To select consecutive objects:

  1. Move your pointer over the first object.

  2. Say "Mouse Click".
  3. Move your pointer over the last object.
  4. Say "Type Shift Left Click".

To drag the objects after you've selected them, see To click and drag objects above and start with step 3.

To copy the objects and move them after you've selected them, see To copy objects below and start with step 3.

To select non-consecutive objects:

  1. Move your pointer over the first object.

    For more information, see To move the mouse pointer.

  2. Say "Mouse Click".
  3. Move your pointer over other objects individually, and then say "Type Control Mouse Click".

To drag the objects after you've selected them, see To click and drag objects above and start with step 3.

To copy the objects and move them after you've selected them, see To copy objects below and start with step 3.

To copy objects:

  1. Move your pointer over the object.

    For more information, see To move the mouse pointer.

  2. Do one of the following:

    • "Control Drag Mouse Up"
    • "Control Drag Mouse Down"
    • "Control Drag Mouse Left"
    • "Control Drag Mouse Right"
    • "Control Drag Mouse Upper Left"
    • "Control Drag Mouse Upper Right"
    • "Control Drag Mouse Lower Left"
    • "Control Drag Mouse Lower Right"
  4. Optionally say one of the following:

    • "Faster"
    • "Slower"
    • "Very Fast"
    • "Very Slow"
    • "Much Faster"
    • "Much Slower"
  5. Say "Stop" to drop the copy of the objects.

To move the mouse pointer:

To move the pointer 10 units or fewer:

Say one of the following:

  • "Mouse Up <1-10>"
  • "Mouse Down <1-10>"
  • "Mouse Left <1-10>"
  • "Mouse Right <1-10>"

To move the pointer anywhere on your screen:

You must have selected the Enable mouse motion commands option on the Options dialog box—Commands page.

Do the following:

  1. Say one of the following:

    • "Move Mouse Up"
    • "Move Mouse Down"
    • "Move Mouse Left"
    • "Move Mouse Right"
    • "Move Mouse Upper Left"
    • "Move Mouse Upper Right"
    • "Move Mouse Lower Left"
    • "Move Mouse Lower Right"
  2. Optionally say one of the following:

    • "Faster"
    • "Slower"
    • "Very Fast"
    • "Very Slow"
    • "Much Faster"
    • "Much Slower"
  3. Say "Stop".

To stop mouse pointer movement:

Say "Stop".
