What's new

User provisioning

User provisioning allows you to establish new users in Nuance Management Center (NMC) automatically when users belong to a specific group in your Active directory. During user provisioning, NMC grants required Dragon product license to the users when Dragon login is performed via Windows SSO or LDAP authentication.

User deprovisioning simplifies your user management process by providing automatic user synchronization between NMC and your organization's LDAP user directory. With user deprovisioning enabled, you do not need to review the status of users in your user directory and manually make adjustments in NMC to keep the users synchronized

NMS Version 6.9 or higher is required for User Provisioning and Deprovisioning.

Support for Microsoft Edge

Dragon now supports the latest version of Microsoft Edge. For more information, see Working with Edge.

Security enhancements

System optimizations have been made to improve Dragon's security and resiliency.

Summary Description

Several NLP commands not working correctly in Microsoft Office version 2019

Some NLP commands do not work in Microsoft Word version 2019. For example, "Send an Email" or "Send Document as Email".

NLP commands not working when setting is enabled in Nuance Management Center

When you create users in the NMC Administrator group under Default Site in Nuance Management Center, NLP commands do not work, even though the Enable natural language commands setting is enabled on the Group Details>Dragon Professional tab.

Workaround 1: Do not add users to the NMC Administrator group.

Workaround 2: Navigate to the Group Details>Dragon Professional>Commands tab, and then click Save. This places the settings in the database and correctly enables natural language commands.

Google Docs not getting uploaded using VocTool

When you select the Add Google Docs option in the VocTool and attempt to provide your Google login credentials, a script error occurs.

Learn from specific documents not working with Google Docs

When you select the Add Google Docs option in Learn from sent emails and attempt to sign in with your Google credentials, sign in error occurs.

Correction menu and disambiguation markers appear smaller when using 3840 x 2160 resolution

When you are using a monitor that supports high resolution like 3840 x 2160 and you say "Correct <word>" in Microsoft Word, the Correction menu and disambiguation markers appear significantly smaller.

Check Dragon SDK applications

User profiles are now located in the %AppData% folder to ensure that user profile data remains secure and access is restricted to the user or to an administrator.

If you are using Dragon as a run-time with any Dragon SDK applications you have created:

  • The Open User Profile dialog box shows user profiles in the following location:
    • Users\Username\Appdata\Local\Nuance\NS15\Users
  • SDK requests for a list of speakers will show only the profiles in the new location (%LocalAppdata%).
  • Profiles in the legacy \ProgramData location are not listed when SDK applications request a list of Speakers unless the SDK application explicitly changes the profile folder location to the legacy folder in SDK application.
  • Profiles opened through the SDK will not automatically move to the new location.
  • To view profiles located in both the legacy and new locations, SDK applications need to check both locations to show the aggregated list.
When you are in the MyCommands Editor—Advanced Scripting dialog box, right-clicking the mouse in the Script area no longer lists the References dialog box. To open the References dialog box, put your cursor in the Script area of the MyCommands Advanced Scripting dialog box and press Alt+Enter.
On changing tabs in browser, dictation stops working on the editable field of the browser On changing tabs in browser, dictation stops working on the editable field of the browser even when focus is on the editable field of the browser. This issue was observed with Google chrome and Edge.
Path specific to localappdata gets generated under the nsdefaults.ini when user selects and thereafter deselect the default NMS mode

Workaround:
To fix this issue, manually delete the following entries from the \ProgramData\nsdefaults.ini file:

  • User Base Directory=C:\Users\qaa\AppData\Local\Nuance\NS15\User

  • User Base Directory RU=C:\Users\qaa\AppData\Local\Nuance\NS15\Users

The Dragon Web extension dialog intermittently pops up even after extension is installed in the browser

This problem can happen in browsers where the default URL has not been set.

Workaround:
Setting a default URL in your browser stops the dialog box from popping up.
