Working with the DragonBar
The DragonBar is the toolbar you use to control Dragon.
To turn the microphone on:Do one of the following:
You can't turn the microphone on by voice. |
To turn the microphone off:Do one of the following:

To put Dragon to sleep:Do one of the following:
Dragon goes to sleep automatically when you have not said anything after 5 minutes by default. To change this, modify the Put microphone to sleep after n minutes of silence setting on the Options dialog box—Miscellaneous tab. |
To wake up Dragon:Do one of the following:

To load a user profile:Use this procedure when the microphone state is or .

To select from a menu:
Or Select the menu and menu option with your mouse. If you use a touchscreen computer and you've opened a DragonBar menu, touch and hold a different menu option to open it. |
To enable or disable Auto-collapse:This prevents the DragonBar from collapsing when you move your mouse away from it. From the New DragonBar, select DragonBar>Auto-collapse. If you use a touchscreen computer, Nuance recommends that you deselect this option. |
To expand the DragonBar:If auto-collapse is selected, hover your mouse over the DragonBar. If auto-collapse is deselected, do one of the following:

To collapse the New DragonBar:If auto-collapse is selected, move your mouse away from the DragonBar. If auto-collapse is deselected, do one of the following:

To change the recognition mode:Say "Start <recognition mode name> Mode". Or Select a mode from the Recognition mode selector. |
To open the Classic DragonBar:
Or From the New DragonBar, select DragonBar>Classic DragonBar. If you are used to a previous version of Dragon or you just like the look of an interface from the 1990s, you can switch to the Classic DragonBar. |
To open the New DragonBar:
Or From the Classic DragonBar, click the Dragon icon ( ) and then selectNew DragonBar. |
To change the display mode:On the New DragonBar:Say "Switch DragonBar to Tray Icon Only Mode". Or Select DragonBar>Tray icon only. On the Classic DragonBar:Say one of the following:
