Where are my files?

Dragon stores information in three places on your computer:

Directory

Contents

Dragon's Root directory is in your Startup disk under /Library/Application Support/Dragon

  • Your speech engine data
  • Your Dragon Professional Individual for Mac license

This is the only Dragon data accessible to all users on your Mac.

Dragon's Home directory is located in your user directory under ~/Library/Application Support/Dragon

Dragon commands, vocabulary, and other necessary data. Do not delete or alter these files. By default, OS X hides the ~/Library directory.

The Documents directory is located in your user directory under ~/Documents/Dragon

  • Your Dragon profiles
  • Transcribed text files (default directory)
  • Backups of your personal data, including:
    • Zipped copies of your Dragon Dictate 4 or Dragon for Mac 5 profiles
    • Your custom commands, if you have created any
    • Your custom vocabulary words, if you have created any

If you install Dragon Web Extensions, Dragon stores the Internet Plug-In file, npDDRia.plugin, in /Library/Internet Plug-Ins. See Dragon Web Extensions for more information.
