Configuring your mobile device as a dictation source

To use your mobile device as a dictation source, your device and the computer where Dragon is installed must be on the same wireless network. For network considerations, see Network considerations for the Dragon Remote Microphone application.

Complete the following steps to use your mobile device as a dictation source.

Download and install the Dragon Remote Microphone application on your device. You can download the app from:

Do one of the following:

  • Create a new user profile with the Dragon Remote Microphone app as a dictation source.
  • Add the Dragon Remote Microphone app as a dictation source to your existing user profile.

When you add the app as a dictation source, you'll configure the app to allow your device to find your computer.

Adding the Dragon Remote Microphone application as a dictation source

Do the following on the computer where Dragon is installed.

  1. From the DragonBar, select Profile>Manage Dictation Sources.

    The Manage Dictation Sources dialog box opens.

  2. Click Add New Dictation Source.

    The Add a Dictation Source dialog box opens.

  3. Select Dragon Remote Microphone Application, and then click Next.

    Dragon customizes itself. When complete, the Microphone Connection dialog box opens.

  4. Do one of the following to allow your device to find your computer:

  5. Click Next.

    The Test your audio device dialog box appears.

  6. Tap the microphone button in the app.
  7. Click Start in the Test your audio device dialog box.
  8. Read the text shown on the screen.
  9. Click Next, then click Finish.

    You can now tap the app's microphone button and begin dictating.
