Working with user profiles
A user profile is a set of files that Dragon uses to process what you say. Your user profile stores information, like the type of microphone you use, custom words, and vocabularies.
This topic describes non-Roaming user profiles. For information on working with Roaming user profiles, see Working with Roaming user profiles.
To create a new user profile:Do one of the following:

To create a new user profile with a different language:Follow the instructions for creating a new user profile above. On the Choose your speech options page of the New User Wizard, select the language for the user profile. You must have selected the languages you want to use for your user profiles during the Dragon installation. You can install the languages later from the Dragon installation CD or setup.exe file. |

To save your user profile:Dragon saves your user profile automatically when you exit. You might save your user profile manually if, for example, you just added many new words to your vocabulary. From the DragonBar, select Profile>Save User Profile. |

To back up your user profile manually:From the DragonBar, select Profile>Backup user profile. Dragon backs up your user profile. |
To restore your user profile:You might restore your user profile if you accidentally saved changes to your user profile that you didn't want, or if your user profile became corrupted.

To upgrade your user profile:If you upgraded from a previous version, you had the choice of which user profiles to upgrade. Since most users have only one profile, this is usually an easy choice. If you chose not to upgrade your profiles when you installed, you can start Upgrade User Profile from the Windows Start menu to upgrade those profiles. |
